Why Create True Calling
“What do I really want to do with my life?”
“What do I enjoy spending most of my time doing?”
“What is the meaningful work I look forward to do every day when I wake up?”
“What is the job I can be great at?”
“What is my True Calling?”
If your response is “I don’t know but I would love to know and live my life accordingly.”, then this is for you.
“When I was a kid, I would spend most of my time solving Maths problems before realizing hours had passed. I tried other things but I just knew what I wanted to do when I grew up”, said the Mathematics Teacher.
“My father died because of the malpractice of a doctor. I determined to become the best doctor I can become to avoid similar tragedy from happening”, said the Doctor.
“After watching my idol played basketball, I tried to do what he did. I didn’t succeed the first time, but gradually I knew this is something I can become great at.” said the Professional Basketball Player.
The three examples above are the few people who managed to find their True Callings. Unfortunately, most people never found it.
If you lost the only key to your home and just couldn’t find it after hours of searching, what would you do?
Would you try to stay in a relative’s home, a friend’s place, or a nearby hotel?
Would you keep searching for the key for the rest of your life?
Or would you go to the Keysmith to create a new key?
What if it is the key to your True Calling?
You can settle for a less-than-ideal job like settling for a nearby hotel.
You can keep trying out many different jobs aimlessly like trying to locate the lost key for the rest of your life.
Or you can create your own key to your True Calling. You will be the Keysmith yourself and your actions will be the tools that shape your life into a tailored job that is truly suitable to you.
To Create True Calling is to proactively guarantee yourself not only having a True Calling but also living it, instead of trying to find your True Calling or wait for it to come to you which is like trying to win a lottery.
Please write down a job that you like or any job comes to your mind.

What you wrote is a True Calling you created for yourself.
But Creating True Calling does not stop there. In fact, it does not stop as long as you are alive.
Instead of thinking inside the box of the favorite subjects you studied at school for your Passion, you define your own Passion. For example, you really like Technologies but only for those that improve relationships between parents and their kids. You can define your Passion as “I love everything about Parental Bonding Technologies”.
Instead of taking on jobs that other people think you should do, you assign meaning to what is the most meaningful job for yourself. For example, while working in a highly paid job for a big company wearing suit may mean success to many other people, the most meaningful work for you may be to work as a lifeguard because you was saved by a lifeguard and you wanted to do the same to others.
Instead of trying to fit yourself into a Job Description of a company written to achieve corporate objectives, you write your own Job Description of your True Calling which is the only way you can truly work towards the vocation that is tailored perfectly for you.
The True Calling Description can include more than one jobs and many different daily tasks because you are no longer bounded to work only during your “Working Hours”. For example, you can give yourself the Job Title of “Top Lawyer-Husband”. In your True Calling Description, you have two jobs i.e. you spend 8 hours every day to work as the best Lawyer you can be in your specialty and you spend 8 hours every day with your wife as the best Husband you can be.
Instead of becoming a starving artist or working in a job to finance your hobby which is what you really want to do, to Create True Calling is to turn your Passion and Purpose into a Paid Vocation through Self-Mastery and Creating Values for others. For instance, if your Passion is Video Gaming, you need to master your craft in such an entertaining and excellent level that people will pay to see you perform as paid audience or learn from you as paid students.
You may have written down an imperfect True Calling, but to Create True Calling is to work towards Perfection. Through agile actions, adjustments, and improvements, you gradually shape your life towards The True Calling that is perfect for you.
Although you have not been able to go home yet while you are in the process of Creating True Calling, you will stay in the temporary home you created for yourself. It may not be a 5 star hotel, but your temporary home will get better and better every day towards becoming your ideal home. After all, as you accumulate new experiences and learning, your True Calling will evolve with you. Even if you really could not find The True Calling at the end of your life, you would have lived the fulfilling life of Creating True Calling.
